♥ Makeup remover: Coconut oil will gently remove your makeup – just make sure to rinse it off after! I noticed it leaves an oily residue so a toner is definitely suggested.
♥ Hair softener: Use coconut oil as a DIY hair mask to soften your hair and add moisture. I avoid my roots because I have an oily scalp. Leave it for about 30 minutes and rinse out.
♥ Cellulite: Massage the entire body with an exfoliating glove or brush and then lather yourself with coconut oil afterwards.
♥ Shaving cream: Give yourself a smooth shave by using coconut oil in place of your normal shaving cream. This is a great idea for those of you who have sensitive skin and may be sensitive to all the chemicals in normal shaving creams.
♥ Moisturizer: The fatty acids in coconut oil helps lock moisture into the skin, so smooth some over your elbows and other rough spots after the shower.
♥ Cuticle oil: If your nail beds have been looking a bit dry dab some coconut oil on them. It beats getting one of those fancy cuticle oils.
♥ Body scrub: Make your own body scrub by combining coconut oil with brown sugar.

I love coconut oil I've been using it awhile now to bake with. It's so good. I do use it on my sons skin and it helps his eczema. I have never tried in my hair. Will try it now that you have suggested it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt really is not as heavy on your hair as you might think. It is great!
DeleteI especially love coconut oil for my hair and for removing make-up -- especially lip stains and dark coloured matte lipsticks. I'll definitely incorporate it more into my skin care
ReplyDeleteI definitely do use it to take my make-up off, it is great!
DeleteI looooooooove coconut oil for my hair. I didn't know it had all these other uses though! Great info!
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for stopping by I am glad I was helpful

Why thank you
DeleteI love coconut oil, too! It cleared up the horrid cracked skin on my hands--winter is hell on them--really quickly. I occasionally rub it into my cuticles, but mostly I eat a spoonful of it ever day, just straight out of the tub. Might sound weird, but my skin is quite happy about being nourished from within :)

I use it on my smoothies and it took some getting used to but I like it
DeleteI use coconut oil to make my own lip balm, and body butter, plus I cook with it too! Its really good for you, inside and out! (visiting from SITS)
ReplyDeleteI use it to cook too and I don't taste it and I know it is good for me:)
DeleteI too love coconut oil…so much! I use it for all the reasons you stated except I’ve noticed that when I use it on my face, I tend to get a few milia here and there. I’ve switched to jojoba oil for just my face. My fave is using it as shaving cream because then I don’t have to use lotion after my shower!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I love coconut oil to shave too and I recently have switched over to Jojoba Oil for my face since it is non-comedogenic
DeleteNew visitor from #SITSblogging. I am going to have to try some of these ideas, they sound delish! So glad to have found you through Comment Love!

ReplyDeleteWell I am glad I was bale to inform you of more benefits
Deletei have heard all the benefits of coconut oil. We used it on my pup when he had a huge bit of dry skin - he was scratching himself raw (and there were no creepy crawlies or any other reason besides dry skin). It worked great! He looked silly with oily fur, but it did the trick
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting, I am glad that coconut oil was able to help the situation
DeleteI have coconut oil in both bathrooms and kitchen. I'm always grabbing it! I got my daughter-in-law using it on my grandsons bottom. He has sensitive skin! #SITSBlogging
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post! My hair is my thorn in my side. Really. I will be trying these, on my daughter as well. Awwwww. I have five kids. Only one of them is a girl, the youngest. (Well, she is a triplet, so youngest by only a few minutes - lol) This will be our first time doing a hair treatment together. Her hair is like mine and she'll be angry with me when she's older. Great post. Love the site. #SITS
ReplyDeleteI love coconut oil and especially, using it on my hair. And I'm fresh out right now, so it's on my grocery list! Love your black and white blog design! #SITSBlogging

I love coconut oil! I use it for cooking all of the time and I recently started using it on my son's chapped thumbs, he is an avid thumbsucker and his poor little thumbs get cracked in the winter. I didn't realize you could use it on your hair though, thanks for sharing. Stopping by from #SITSBlogging.
ReplyDeleteCoconut oil is amazing for beauty products! I have heard contradicting reports about whether it is good for you or not!
