Spring 2013 Trend Alert

Like always trends always have a way of coming back. For this upcoming Spring basics are back and more fierce. The monochromatic trend is back, nothing like a basic black and white. We will be seeing a lot of ruffles in a lot of the blouses for this season believe it or not. Peekaboo pieces, faux leather, florals and neons are back as well. So if you are thinking of a new wardrobe keep these trends in mind and think lateral with patterns and stripes for the season too. Hope you enjoy and do not forget to leave your comments and questions down below.

Forth Worth Stockyards

My boyfriend and I decided to go on our casual date stroll. We were feeling adventurous and took the TRE to Forth Worth and let me tell you it was quite the adventure. When we arrived in Downtown Forth Worth we walked around a bit, stopped at their awesome Barnes and Nobles and then headed for some lunch. It was only natural to try some barbecue while there so stopped at Riscky's Barbeque. Afterwards we took a couple of buses to head over to a gun range but when we arrived it was closing. I guess it was about the adventure.

Btw this was when I was redhead, I must admit I miss my more riske haircolor ;)

Hair To Dye For

For awhile I've been wanting to change my hair once again! The ombre has been one of the trends that I have been loving lately. I have gone through blonde, red and back to burnette, but the burnette is just too bland for me right now.

I decided to do either a shade or two lighter of higlights in my fringe area or do the ombre look. What do you guys think?

I've looked at several photos and have narrowed it down to a more caramel color like the ones below.

Matte Eye Palettes

Urban Decay took us by storm in 2010 with their first palette. Recently they came out with their second palette which is a bit similar to the first one, but matte is the whole rave this year. Urban Decay did not stay behind and came out with a mini matte version that fits perfectly in your makeup bag.

This palette come with 6 different shades, one of them has a bit of shimmer which is called Venus very similar to Virgin from the first and second palette. I love that makeup companies are coming out with matte colors because they are very flattering to older complexions. As well as younger if you do not like all the shimmer.

Many brands have matte palettes that are just as good though. I'll list a few of my favorites down below.

This all matte palette comes with 9 different shades that comes in both neutrals and colors. What I like about this palette is that is divided into three different looks. The palette also includes look cards tucked away into the lid that shows different looks using this palette. I also love that it has a magnetic closure lid.

This palette contains 9 matte shades named after the Balm's favorite Matt's. It also includes a small bristle brush in the kit, which I actually love because is better than those sponge brushes you get in the drugstore eye kits. I love that is made out of heavy duty cardboard and has a magnetic closure lid and mirror. This palette plus the name is perfection.

This palette is one of the biggest! It includes 88 cool matte eye shadows. The only downsize is that you cannot carry this in your bag like you could maybe one of the other options, but it comes with so many that is worth the price and value. If you are looking for something more affordable this will be your got to palette for sure.

Revive Your Nail Polish

When it comes to tossing or up keeping our nail polishes, the honest true is that is not a routine we tend to go by. We have to admit that eventually we will have to toss them. I am a big nail polish junkie and do not tend to go through my polishes to check when they are clumping or thickening until I am ready to use them. Remember dark shades tend to get thicker faster because they are more pigmented.

♥ The first thing to do to declump your polishes is to turn the bottle upside down and roll the bottle between your hands to mix the polish. NEVER shake the polish bottle because this creates bubbles that you cannot see until you apply the laquer onto your nails.
♥ Second tip is to try using a nail polish thinner. You can find this product at any local beauty supply store or online like Sally's Orly Polish Thinner-$4.29 or OPI Nail Laquer Thinner-$7.00, make sure that when you add it to shake gently.
♥ Adding pure acetone/nail polish remover is fine, but only do this if you are not planning on using it again or tossing it. The reason is because the high water content in the nail polish remover causes the polish to seperate.

2013 Goals!

A new year means coming up with new year resolutions and as always my new year's resolution is to lose weight! I have a love/hate relationship with my new year's resolutions, because I'm never oppose to change but can never seem to succeed and plus I don't need an excuse of a new year to change those things. Setting yourself with goals is great and it makes you wonder what you can improve at. Maybe you have unhealthy food habits that you would like to quit? Trying to be a more positive person? Work less, and explore more? Whatever it is, there is no judgement here! We all have things we need to work at.

I have a few resoultions this year.

♥ Eat breakfast every morning- the first meal of the day helps burn more calories, so you are not starving midafternoon craving junk food. I wil try to eat more high protein foods and less sugary food every morning.

♥ Be more flexible- I tried yoga once and must admit it was hard, but I love how flexible the people on a daily basis are. Maybe I'll try to work harder at being flexible and hope to maybe achieve at doing the splits...lol

♥ Save money- We all say we are going to be more responsible with our money and I'm the kind of person that blows her money on impulse shopping. This year I'm going to try to put aside at least $10 in a piggy bank, yes a piggy bank and collect it at the end of the year. Maybe next Christmas will be an even better one.

♥ Read more- I have picked up reading since last year but have to admit can't seem to enjoy it as much. i will try to at least pick up more books and try to take it as a hobby for my down time.

♥ Go see a live show- I have never been to a concert or a live music show. I would really like to get out of my comfort zone and explore this area a bit more.

♥ Work Out- Yes I'm a big fanatic of the couch and we are BFF's but this year no more! We must end it and at least 30 minutes a day if I happen to be feeling lazy.

♥ Spend time outside- I tend to live in the indoors and I would like to go to the park more, explore nature and surround myself with nature.

♥ Scrapbook more- I love to scrapbook and keep memories alive and I'm yet to finish my project from two years ago. I think this year is time to finish that darn book.

Now I’m really curious to know, what are your new year resolutions, if you have any?

Fashionable Planner

Sometimes it's not about being fashionably late! I'm always a sucker for cute things and thought a new year calls for a new planner. I searched and searched and found the perfect girly planner for my collection for the year 2013. Brittany Fuson Paper has hands down my favorite planner so far that I have owned. The sketches are gorgeous and if you love fashion this will be your favorite as well. Her website has note cards, notepads, and greeting cards. I know we are so caught up with technology and organizational apps nowadays but a small part of me is still old school and loves to write things down still. I gave in and purchased this adorable planner.
