Men's Fashion

This post is for you gentlemen. When it comes to picking out a functional wardrobe, the first thing a guy must do is determine his lifestyle. Do you need to wear a suit every day? Are you in a more casual setting at work? If so, then perhaps you need more khakis or jeans than trousers or suits. No matter what particular situation though, there are things every man should have in his wardrobe. Men's must haves in any lifestyle.

Guys have you ever seen a lady in a sexy or classy outfit and you make a comment to your lover or to yourself that maybe she should wear something like that. Well women are no different when we see David Beckham, Justin Timberlake and Paul Walker rock the scarfs, vests, skinny ties because to us it's fashionable and sexy. Men have it so easy in my opinion they can slap on a pair of jeans and t-shirt and out the door. As for women we have to worry about our mani, pedis, hair, makeup, outfit, shoes and much more. Well I think man should step it up when dressing. I don't think that you should necessarily go metro but an effort would be much appreciated it's sexy when a girl sees that a man tries too. I've put some outfits together and this is my personal style I like on men but the possibilities are endless. May I add that I'm a sucker for sleeve tattoos preferably on David Beckham : )

Dress to Impress in the Midnight Hour

Holidays are here and outfit ideas are arising your head if you're anything like me. What would you be wearing for Christmas shimmer and ringing in the New Year? It's obvious that sequined clothing is the new trend this year but also my favorite for the holidays is velvet clothing. I've put different styles from edgy, feminine, sophisticated and casual. Hope ya'll like them.

I'm Thankful For...

Happy to be around family? Lucky to have friends you can count on? Fortunate to have a job in a topsy-turvy economy? Many of ya'll will be enjoying the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and tuning in to watch football with a slice of pumpkin pie.

Thanksgiving Day is more than just tradition, it's a personal time of reflection for what to be thankful for. Perhaps you got a new job, maybe your among the many that surpassed our troubled economy. Maybe you've been able to stay in your home despite the threat of foreclosure.

The health and happiness of family members is often a reason to be thankful for. I'm thankful for my parents, my healthy son, a roof over my head, my best friend and my health of course. Just because I won't be sitting down to eat a dinner and spend it with family this year due to work I'm grateful for all I have. Let me know what you're thankful for.

Have a Gobble, Gobble Day : )

Harvest Outfit Delights

Don't forget as we all enjoy turkey and the trimmings this Thanksgiving, you may be interested to know that the first Thanksgiving celebration in America was a completely religious observance that didn't include a feast. Give thanks for all you have and not just for our material blessings but for our freedom.

Thanksgiving is a day away and if most are like me you are probably wondering what would you be wearing. Unfortunately I'll be working on this day and I no longer have to worry because I'll be wearing a uniform instead.

There are many options depending if you want to dress down and be comfy casual or want to glam it up and dress it up. I'll provide ya'll with some options if you seemed to be stuck on your Thanksgiving attire.

Lovin' It

I thought I would take a minute to share with you my love for socks from ankle, knee-high, or thigh-high. My favorite ways to wear them is with boots, oxfords, heels or wedges. They add that extra touch of femininity, take a dark outfit and make it a bit sweeter or edgier. Whatever style you're going for add socks this winter. Here are some ways of my favorite inspirations.

My recreation...

In Memory of JFK

Today is a day to remember John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the thirty-fifth President of the United States. He was assassinated on this very day at 12:30pm on Friday November 22, 1963, in Dealey Plaza. Kennedy was fatally shot while riding with his wife Jacqueline and others.

If you live in Dallas I would suggest planning a visit to the Dealey Museum is located in the West End Historic District in Downtown Dallas. They exhibit feature films, photographs and artifacts of Kennedy's life and death on the sixth and seventh floors.

I'll end this with one of my favorite quotes from him.
"Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names" -John F. Kennedy

eos obsession

I've been obsessed with eos lip balms. I like their packaging and flavors. The lip balms are organic and 100% natural and paraben and petrolatum free. The twist-off top smooth sphere glides on smoothly.

If you're obsessed with eos as well let me know which one is your favorite.

♥ My favorite is Sweet Mint it leaves a minty feel on your lips, though it's not ideal for winter.
♥ Medicated Tangerine I believe is good for the winter because it provides medicated relief and prevents bacterial contamination.
♥ Lemon drop would be perfect for the summer because it has SPF 15.
♥ Summer Fruit it's very fruity and it smells just like it sounds and on the plus this lip balm is the easiest to find besides all the other ones in the collection.
♥ Honeysuckle Honeydew it's actually my second favorite because of the smell.
♥ Strawberry Sorbet smells exactly like the name and I have to admit I'm not in love with it but love the pink sphere. Also this lip balm is a limited edition so if you find it I recommend getting it.
♥ Passion Fruit I'm yet to have tried, but I'll probably use this one the last since it's also limited edition.

Isabella Marie Swan and Edward Anthony Masen Cullen

As you all must know my best friend, Chris and I went to experience the wedding of the century. I was so ecstatic and happy for Bella ; ) that I can't wait to see part two of Breaking Dawn. I hope all the Twilight fans that watched it enjoyed it as much as I did.

Mexican Superstitions

I'm very proud to be a Latina; my boyfriend always gives me a hard time because he tells me I'm an American because I was born in America. I can see his point and I agree BUT I also love my culture and where my parents came from. I wanted to take the time to talk about Mexican superstitions because when I say something in Spanish about a certain superstition people(my boyfriend) ask me what it is.

One superstition is that if a pregnant woman walks outside during a lunar eclipse without wearing a pin, she runs the risk of giving birth to an infant with a cleft palate. It's said that we can also tie keys around the waist to reflect the light to avoid problems.

Another common Mexican superstition has to do with the evil eye. We call it "mal de ojo" in Spanish; the evil eye can cause all sorts of distress to people and also to material items. We believe the evil eye can be condensed down to jealousy and desire. If someone looks upon your baby/child with either of these emotions in her eyes, she has just given your child the evil eye. To keep the evil eye away, we tend to ask the person to touch the child at the same time. If a child is suffering from a high fever, crying fits, or nausea we generally think is due to the evil eye. If the person who gave the child the evil eye is around, she must pass a mouthful of saliva to the child to break the spell. If the person that gave the evil eye is not around, an egg is rolled across the child's body while doing an "Ave Maria" prayer. If it is "hard" or "looks like an eye" then the evil eye has caused the child's illness. A red bracelet can also be worn to protect against the evil eye.

I also always been told by my mother that putting Rosemary in my wallet brings me money. I haven't done this in awhile that would explain my lack of money lately : ) My mom also has told me to put Rosemary by the front doors so nobody steals from you and I've been told it keeps the witches away...lol

Lastly in a Mexican ceremony a lasso is featured in a figure eight, which symbolically ties the couple in matrimony. The couple may also have outside family and friends as "sponsors" who pay for the various wedding needs, such as favors, photographers, banquet facilities and etc. This is done more in Quinceneras not so much weddings.

Superstitions are very old and were told by ancestors. Many people practice these superstitions because they think that they work and some people just don't. Personally I do believe in them; but each person lives their own life and has their own beliefs. Feel free to comment to let me know if you have any superstitions you believe in...

Make Up Forever or NOT

Make Up For Ever has become one of my favorite products.  It didn't take long before famous makeup artists, models, and movie stars heard about the collection. The finished look it's flawless and a little on the pricey side but well worth it. I believe SOME products are great and some not so great.

I love the Make Up Forever Face and Body Foundation, gel texture is light, fresh and smooth. It evens out the complexion and leaves the skin, with a very natural finish. Its long-lasting and water-resistant formula is also suited to the body.

I have to admit that the HD High Definition Powder from Make Up Forever leaves the skin matte. Though the mineral powder does contain Hydrated Silica (silicone dioxide). After some research the Silica in the mineral powder in Make Up Forever is safe. Although it does leave the skin flawless once is photographed the HD loose powder clearly doesn't like photography. The photographs below can also have many reasons on why their faces look so white it could be that their foundation have sunscreen and don't look good in photographs. This product obviously illustrates that if you're going to be getting you're photo taken with a flash this wouldn't be my choice of powder.
